How AI may assist our workflow

AI tools may help organize research, develop outlines, compare source material, improve language and formatting, identify internal-linking opportunities, or create clearly illustrative media. These uses are workflow assistance—not evidence.

Health claims still require evidence

Medical and safety claims should be checked against appropriate authoritative sources. AI-generated text is not itself a medical source and should not be cited as clinical evidence.

What AI must not fabricate

• medical studies or citations;
• statistics or patient cases;
• quotations attributed to real people or organizations;
• clinical reviewer identities or credentials;
• professional approvals or endorsements;
• certainty that the underlying evidence does not support.

AI does not equal medical review

An article is not medically reviewed merely because an AI system generated, edited, analyzed, or checked part of it. See our Medical Review Policy.

AI-generated imagery

Illustrative AI imagery should not be passed off as a photograph of a real patient or as diagnostic proof. Our standards are explained in the Image & Media Policy.
